Who's this trip for?

This centre-based trip will suit a wide range of riders.

You can use a camp like this to get a big training ‘block’ done in the spring, perhaps in preparation for a goal event later in the year. For others, the week will be a chance to enjoy riding in this beautiful area with our support and guidance.

Some experience of group riding will be beneficial. There will be considerable time in groups on the flatter parts of each day.

With daily rides between 50-120km, riders should expect up to 5 hours in the saddle. There will be flexibility to adapt daily rides to suit different riders. Stronger riders will have longer and tougher options available daily, and slower riders will have the opportunity for shorter rides.

If you’ve any doubts or concerns over the riding level required to enjoy this trip, drop us a line, and we’ll take you through exactly what to expect.

What makes this trip different?

A true road cycling paradise with a beautiful town to enjoy time off the bike. Located close to the sea and foothills of the Pyrenees, we’ll be spoilt for choice on our daily rides.

We have selected six beautiful and varied routes with spectacular coastal riding along the Mediterranean, challenging climbs such as the infamous Rocacorba and adventures into the volcanic region of the Garrotxa.

You’ll get six guided days on the bike with the flexibility to ride more or less each day, depending on your ability and aspirations. Rides will be vehicle-supported, so food and drink are always close, and mechanical issues can be resolved quickly.

Your guides, coaches and support driver will mean you’ll enjoy a ‘pro’ experience of support, and you’ll be able to focus on riding in this beautiful part of the world.

Built on the banks of the River Onyar, Girona is known for its medieval architecture, walled Old Quarter (Barri Vell) and the Roman remains of the Força Vella fortress. Landscaped gardens line the Passeig Arqueològic, a walkway following the Old Quarter’s medieval walls, which include watchtowers with sweeping views.

Although riding is the main focus, your time off the bike will be memorable too. Girona has gained fame for its gastronomic offerings, including an incredible choice of restaurants where you can refuel.

Course Itinerary

Saturday: Arrival Day

Arrival day – we’ll pick up riders from Girona airport.

  • Girona Airport is 45 minutes away (airport transfer included).
  • We will pick you up and help you settle into the Peninsular Hotel.
  • After you settle in, we’ll guide you for a gorgeous warm-up ride on the spectacular area surrounding Girona town itself.

Sunday to Friday: Daily Rides

Over the next six days, we’ll ride a selection of loops from Girona, which are generally between 50-120km long.

There will be significant climbs daily, although much of the riding will be on flat and rolling terrain. Five of the days will have full vehicle support.

One day midweek will be considerably easier to allow some recovery during the week.
Rides will generally begin at around 9.00. There will be a coffee and light lunch stop every day.
We aim to complete rides by mid-afternoon for plenty of recovery and relaxing time.
Each evening, there will be an optional informal briefing session with an opportunity to pick your coach’s and guide’s brains. We also go over the route for the next day.

The Evening Sessions

Join us every evening for a laid-back briefing session. It’s a great opportunity to soak up tips from experienced riders. We’ll cover topics like video analysis of your riding, fine-tuning your bike fit, nailing those technical skills, and improving your descending techniques with video insights. Plus, we'll share useful nutrition and fueling strategies to keep your energy up. And, we'll chat about what to expect on the next day's route.
