You have your BASI Level 1 and are looking towards the BASI Level 2. Our Fast Track course in Tignes is for you. We know the big jump in skill and knowledge needed to go from BASI Level 1 to Level 2. We’re here to give you the focused training and support you need.

Our course bridges the gap. It ensures you enter your Level 2 assessment with confidence. And, with your skiing at its best. We’ll guide you through this key phase of your ski instructing career. Improving your skiing and ensuring you’re ready for the BASI Level 2 examination.

You’ll also get exclusive employment opportunities with one of our partner ski schools in Japan for the remainder of the season.

Course Structure

Our course starts with an intensive two-week training program, directly followed by the BASI Level 2 exam, ensuring you’re in peak form for your assessment.
Week 1

Building a Strong Foundation

The first week is all about acclimatization and refinement. You’ll start by familiarizing yourself with Tignes’ diverse terrain, setting the stage for a deep dive into ski mechanics and your performance. Our team will identify and target areas for improvement, employing a mix of practical exercises, drills, and video analysis to provide clear insights and actionable feedback. This initial phase lays the groundwork for your progression, covering essential topics like:

  • The Central Theme
  • Teaching Progression and Principles
  • The TIED Model
  • Enhancing Personal Performance
  • The Fundamental Elements of Skiing

 

Week 2

Tailored Preparation for the Exam

With the fundamentals under your belt, week two shifts focus on fine-tuning your skills, specifically addressing any challenges you face. Customised training sessions, led by your dedicated trainer, will focus on your weakness’. Through targeted practice, clear objectives, and technical feedback, your training will ensure you perform at your best, with each session strategically aligned with the exam’s standards.

The culmination of this intensive preparation is the BASI Level 2 exam, where you’ll apply everything you’ve learned. This final step isn’t just a test but an opportunity to showcase your enhanced understanding and technical prowess as a ski instructor.

Week 3

The BASI Level 2 Exam

The concluding part of your course is the BASI Level 2 examination. Here, the focus is on demonstrating the skills and knowledge you’ve refined over the preceding weeks. It’s your moment to shine, backed by the comprehensive training and personalised support you’ve received.

Course Accommodation

Welcome to your home from home in Tignes Val Claret. It's a mix of comfort and convenience. The apartment is spacious, perfect for up to 11 guests and minutes from the slopes.

Apartment Features:

  • Bedrooms and Bathrooms: Four cosy bedrooms with flexible bed setups. There are three bathrooms (two showers, one bath) and two additional toilets.
  • Living Space: A large 30m² living room with a kitchen is ideal for relaxing and socializing.
  • Kitchen: The kitchen has an oven, microwave, fridge, hob, dishwasher, and washing machine. It also has raclette, fondue, and crepes machines.
  • Ski Amenities: A ski locker and direct access to the slopes make skiing easy.

The apartment is on the 6th floor of the Curling A building. It's quiet and well-insulated. New double-glazed windows ensure peaceful nights.

Who can apply?

We pride ourselves in picking the right people to join our team of ski and snowboard instructors. We’re famous for educating skilled, energetic, and highly motivated instructors. The most important thing for you is to be positive, outgoing, and adventurous. You must also be ready to work hard as a part of the New Generation team or with our partner schools.

  • You speak English at a conversational level
  • You’re 18 years or above
